UCGPC officers have been committed to sustainability for years. We are excited to announce the UC’s latest effort to create a comprehensive Sustainability Policy. This policy will help guide UC’s actions toward a more sustainable future, and your input is needed.

Summary of the Policy: The Sustainability Policy includes several initiatives, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions, reducing waste, and increasing the use of renewable energy. We also want the UC to prioritize sustainability in purchasing decisions and in the design and operation of our buildings.

Call to Action: We seek feedback on this policy from stakeholders, including employees, customers, and community members. Your input will help ensure we are moving toward sustainability in the right direction. We appreciate responses by 3/13 for early review, but comments will be accepted until 4/7. The Sustainability Steering Committee will consider the policy at the May 5th meeting.

Feedback Draft Document: UCGPC organizing director, Adam Cooper, has created a feedback draft document for your convenience. This document includes specific questions related to each initiative within the Sustainability Policy. Please review the document and provide your feedback by the deadline.

Additional Opportunities for Input: We understand that some stakeholders may be unable to provide feedback by the deadline. There will be a comprehensive systemwide review in the Fall. This will allow everyone to give input on the policy and ensure the UC incorporates all perspectives.
