Your voice matters as a graduate or professional student at the University of California. That’s why it’s important to participate in the upcoming elections for the Executive Vice President (EVP) of the University of California Graduate and Professional Council (UCGPC).

The UCGPC was established to advocate for graduate and professional students’ needs, rights, and interests within the University of California system. This includes promoting our needs to legislative bodies, government agencies, and the University of California administration.

By voting for an EVP who will do the job, you can ensure that the UCGPC continues to serve as a coordinating and service agency for individual Graduate and Professional Student Associations on each campus. The EVP will represent these associations to all state- or university-wide agencies on issues of common concern and gather and disseminate information on issues before the legislative and executive branches of California’s government and the United States government.

Membership in the Council is open to any Graduate and/or Professional Student Association on a campus of the University of California that subscribes to the objectives and purposes of the Council. Suppose a campus has separate or multiple Graduate and/or Professional Student Associations. In that case, the Council shall determine a means of recognizing a conglomerate of the multiple Associations from the affected campus within a single voting membership.

The Board of Directors acts as the governing and fiduciary body of the Council, consisting of delegates from each Association or conglomerate recognized for membership. These delegates will represent their Association or conglomerate on all matters the Board determines.

Your vote matters in ensuring that the UCGPC continues to advocate for graduate and professional students at the University of California. So make sure to cast your vote for an EVP who will do the job and represent our needs effectively.
