Shape UC’s Response to Sexual Harassment and Violence

The University of California Systemwide Title IX Office is seeking passionate graduate and professional students to join the 2024-25 UC Title IX Student Advisory Board (SAB). This influential committee provides a direct line for student voices to be heard on critical issues of sexual harassment and violence within the UC system.

The SAB plays a vital role in:

• Advising the UC Office of the President on Title IX policies and procedures.
• Providing crucial feedback on UC’s efforts to prevent and respond to sexual misconduct.
• Shaping a safer learning environment for all UC students.

By joining the SAB, you’ll gain:

• Invaluable experience advocating for a more equitable and supportive campus environment.
• The opportunity to collaborate with dedicated professionals working to uphold Title IX protections.
• A deeper understanding of Title IX policies and procedures.

Several members from the current SAB will continue their service, but there are vacant positions available.

Graduate Student Representatives needed for the following campuses:

• UC Berkeley
• UC Davis
• UC San Francisco (2)
• UC Merced
• UC Santa Barbara
• UC Los Angeles

A selection committee comprised of student leaders and UCOP representatives will review all applications based on the following criteria: 

•  Knowledge and interest in the area of Title IX and sexual harassment prevention and response 
•  Willingness and ability to collaborate with colleagues in UCOP, the campus Title IX Office and the campus CARE Office 
• Understanding of the overall landscape of their campus and the ability to think broadly and represent students of diverse backgrounds and perspectives 
• Availability to serve on the board and participate in board meetings, monthly conference calls, and other calls as needed. 

Applications are due by June 28th, 2024. Successful applicants will be notified by August 9, 2024.
