The UC Graduate and Professional Council (UCGPC) is inviting graduate and professional students to share their experiences regarding the impacts of research funding cuts from NIH, NSF, and others. This testimony will support advocacy at a California Assembly hearing focused on federal funding’s effects on education and the biotech sector.

The UC Graduate and Professional Council (UCGPC) is calling on graduate and professional students across the UC system to share their stories about how NIH, NSF, or other research funding cuts have affected their academic journeys.

As part of our advocacy mission, we are preparing testimony for a California State Assembly hearing on August 19 focused on the impact of federal research funding on graduate education and California’s biotech sector. Your lived experience is crucial in shaping policies that support mentorship, financial stability, and innovation.
