D.C Day on the Hill takes place annually in Washington D.C. This is a three-day, systemwide advocacy initiative that brings together graduate and professional students from across the University of California to engage directly with state legislators, legislative staff, and policy partners in Washington D.C. Participants will help advance shared student priorities related to affordability, basic needs, research support, and public investment in higher education.
This program centers student voice in the policy process. Through coordinated preparation, training, and legislative meetings, delegates will learn how state policy decisions translate into real impacts on graduate and professional students’ daily lives.

UCGPC D.C. Day on the Hill is designed for students who are interested in public policy, student leadership, and community advocacy – and who want to contribute to a collective, systemwide effort to strengthen higher education.
